A few nights ago, we went to Antonio’s Trattoria for a special occasion family dinner. Antonio’s is a staple in the old-school Italian directory for great eats in Rhode Island. Although it is not located on Federal Hill, it is neighboring several other well-known, traditional Italian spots such as Marchetti’s and Vesuvio.
With a great bar and knowledgeable servers, it’s no wonder why Antonio’s has earned the reputation it has. The service was great and the food was on point. Although some of younger teens at the table weren’t raving about their chicken parm (the food IS traditional and not drenched with sauce or cheese), the adults seemed very pleased with their delicate, lightly dressed salad appetizers and veal entrees, such as the veal chop stuffed with mozzarella and topped with lobster sauce.
We would recommend Antonio’s for family functions, dinners with parents or grandparents, or work events.
