Located on the west side of Providence, this new hip and stylish social club delivers an experience you won’t forget. Once home to a bakery and later used as a social club throughout the early 20th century, founder and director Jason (Jay) Shechtman, has done an amazing job restoring the club’s interior while keeping many of the building’s original aesthetic intact.
Courtland Club, not only a hidden gem to its members, is open to the public and offers an inviting vibe with plenty of options as far as food and drink go. Oh, and did I mention they are all delicious?
If the club’s elaborate and customized cocktail list isn’t enough to make you drool (we recommend the King Gimlet, Celery Sidecar, and Mother Theresa), there are plenty of beers, wines and spirits to choose from. Not to mention an extensive list of Vermouths.
If you’re like me and enjoy sharing a great culinary experience among good company, Courtland Club’s menu options are perfect for groups – you can bet we helped finish one another’s plates!
As for the food, we recommend the Clams Courtland, Chouriço à Bombeiro (which is served on a pig shaped skillet devoured by flames – for all of you who like a good photo-op), and the Cast Iron Cookie. You also can’t go wrong with the P.O.W. (Pizza of the Week).
For those interested in a membership, I can assure you that it will be well worth it. For only $100 a year, you will receive first access to tickets for special events such as dinners and tastings, be able to rent the space for your own private gatherings, and partake in Members’ Only experiences, among other perks!
So, if you haven’t tried this place yet, be sure to check it out ASAP. I promise you’ll be happy you did.
Bon appétit.
